The Words of Urban Phenomenon : Uses and Paradoxes

This work book takes the form of a thematic classification of author quotations centred around paradox as an object of reflection related to urban phenomenon. Beyond the apparent constraints that characterise it, the goal is to consider it more as a tool, an asset, even a resource. The words in this lexical register pertain to contemporary practices, uses, and discourse related to issues of environment, climate, ecological transition, sustainable development, and more. The aim is to shed light on the links between fields of scientific knowledge and the planning of urban spaces from a transdisciplinary perspective (architecture, urbanism, psychology, sociology, economics, ecology, etc.). In this sense, the work follows an didactic and suggestive approach aimed at presenting perspectives that may inspire new research directions. Engaging in dialogue based on the confrontation of ideas and respective interests is the interactive credo of paradox as a subject of study.
