summary

This collective book highlights the scientific reflection initiated by Centre for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology, about the Covid-19 pandemic and its various impacts on Algeria and the whole world, through preliminary readings and hypotheses about the first period of this health crisis. This reflection is the result of the work of the first international virtual conference entitled "Society and the pandemic", organised on 3rd and 4th of June 2020, in partnership with the Faailoone Centre specialising in research in anthropology and the social and human sciences. This conference follows on from the contributions made by CRASC researchers on "The experience of Algerians during the containment period and the post-Covid-19 strategy", which appeared in the scientific report of the Regional Conference of Western Universities. The various research papers presented, based on multidisciplinary readings, focus on the social, economic, psychological and legal dimensions of the pandemic.
